United for Peace and Justice Disarmament Working group calls for protest

  The United for Peace and Justice Disarmament working group 
(convened by Jackie Cabasso)  

has called for a  protest for the next ICBM launch from Vandenberg Air Force Base to Kwajalein atoll in the Marshall Islands.

The launch set for Sept 21 (World Peace Day) was postponed (officially for technical reasons) but generated world wide attention to the fact that these launches occur routinely.

For Northern CA protesters, the  Women's International League for Peace and Freedom mini grant for transportation to Vandenberg protests has reserved The Green Tortoise bus for the night trip from Oakland (leaving about 5 pm) to Lompoc with pick ups along the way.  midnight protest and then return to Oakland by 7 am, with stops Palo Alto, San Jose, Salinas , Santa Cruz.
